In terms of love,

Parents rise over all the rest:

Unconditional, time consuming, forever.

Development requires roles to adapt,

But change is difficult and terrifying.

Catalysts can be internal or external,

Observable and expected,

Or sudden.

Nothing eases the transition,

except the reassurance of normality and success.

Independence is parental achievement,

Yet accepting relationship evolution hurts.
